Education, training quell online sexting concerns

By Larry Graff, Education Daily® The advent of smartphones and social media has rapidly increased the prevalence of sexting incidents where students and staff have shared pornographic images through electronic devices. By educating students, staff, and parents about the dangers and consequences of sexting, you can take strides to eradicate negative online behaviors.

“We have to teach our children to protect their digital footprint,” said Rich Wistocki, a detective with the Naperville (Ill.) Police Department and president of BeSure Consulting. “[Sexting] has ruined lives where kids have [killed themselves] when it’s handled inappropriately.
